The Heavenly Connections
15th Jan, Delhi cold spell renews. It is foggy since morning and the Sun is playing games through the day. Tonight it is expected to touch 2 Degrees and the met department has advised to stay indoors.
What would you do? May be order for your next cup of hot coffee, watch a nice TV show and feel the world is great around you. Think again….
Meet the brave hearts. Anuj Gupta a small tea stall owner in front of All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), who has outsourced his tea making to his mother, since he joined the Aam Admi Party (AAP). His new year resolution, is to take care of the destitute, who are stationed in the 4 Rain Baseras (Night Shelters) , parked near AIIMS. He is the care taker, well wisher, night watchman and at night he gives all the people free tea to keep them warm. Manoj stays in Dwarka and he takes the late night bus back home at night after he has fed everybody. He also knows that he is not alone in this resolve.
A group of people who often order tea from his shop, come forward to feed all the occupants of the night shelters. There is also a duty constable (Baldev Singh) stationed here who is full of praise for this otherwise not noticeable boy.
This time he got an angel from all the way from Toronto, Canada. Mrs Veena Jolly, who sitting so far from her mother land still has her cord firmly attached here. An extremely positive person, believes in laughing and living healthy, wanted to reach out to Anuj’s cause, in her unique way.
She teamed up with her brother (Mr Narender Suri) who stays at Lajpat Nagar, buys Woolen Blankets (Kambals), Shawls and socks and passes it on for Manoj, through #WhenAt60 Solutions. Manoj genuinely feels and understands her emotions, without actually meeting her even once. He goes around in all the buses, identifies all those people who are in dire need of these woolens and donates them, the same. His enthusiasm and commitment to keep all these people warm is just unfathomable.
We at #WhenAt60 Solutions are proud to be the bridge between Anuj and his resolution, Mrs Veena Jolly for her selfless love for the extended family at home.
